Today was our final assessment for ratios, rates, and unit rate- with cookies! We also enjoyed UNO!
Students had to find the ratio of different colored M&Ms, the rate (price per quantity) and the unit rate (price for one cookie). Other students practiced their color ID and counting skills. Great work today, everyone! On Wednesday, both groups headed to the mall to shop or look for family or friends. Our purpose was to think about other people. Students did a nice job thinking about family members on our trip! See the pictures below.
Yesterday, Miss Cook's group went to Woodman's. We practiced finding items on a list, writing prices in correct dollar form (decimal form), finding the dollar up, and writing down the department or aisle number we found the item in. Some students practiced finding and identifying just the items. See the photos below!
Following our trip, we began working on Book Creator books. Each page has a picture of the student engaging in an activity. Then, students use their language to describe what they are doing or learning in the picture. Stay tuned for these books to be featured on the blog! |
