Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Today, math classes worked on Thanksgiving themed math activities. In literacy, we wrote about what we're thankful for and we practiced adding details to our writing.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Friday is Fun Math Friday in 316C!
Students practice their math facts, identifying numbers, counting, turn taking, and communicating appropriately playing UNO and Number Bingo. Check out the pictures below! Yesterday, students in Cook's group went to CVS Pharmacy and Burger King.
First, we practiced all of our public transportation skills- being ready to get on the bus, reading the large map, reading the smaller route maps, telling time, and being safe on the bus. (Pictures are on the "Community Based Learning Page") We also practiced crossing the street safely, looking all directions for cars Then, we went to CVS Pharmacy and did a scavenger hunt for items. We looked for items and brand names. We practiced finding things using aisle numbers and labels. For example, we found 3 brands of toothpaste and 3 brands of shampoo. After, we ate lunch at Burger King. We practiced dollar up to pay the cashier, eating appropriately, talking with friends, and cleaning up after ourselves. Check out the pictures below! Mrs. Parks group had lunch at Noodles and Company today and completed an activity at Target! Kids were finding items in the store, describing their uses, looking for the price, and how much they would need to buy it! We packed a lot of different kind of learning into Friday!
In preparation for Thanksgiving, Mrs. Parks' skills classes made stuffing! It has been a busy two weeks with our first couple of community trips!
This week, Cook's group headed to Target and Subway.
This week, Cook's group went to Goodwill to find items for places in our houses and clothes to wear from the correct departments. We talked about the function of each item (what do we do with this?) and where we would wear the clothes we found.
Before our trip, Molly and Evan led the group with schedule and expectations. When we got back to school, we reflected on our learning! Molly and Evan led our group brainstorm about all the things we learned and practiced. Way to be leaders, you two!! See below for pictures from our learning experience! |
