Today, the group went to McDonald's and Goodwill. The activity was looking for clothing for specific occasions or weather. We also looked for items that go in your home based on rooms. Students also practiced telling the time at the Metro Station in order to figure out how much time until we get on our next bus.
In Literacy, students worked on a "Thankful" writing project, thinking of things, people, places, etc that they are thankful for. Check out the work below!
This week, students practiced finding items based on locations in their homes like the garage, kitchen, bathroom, and living room. They also wrote down the prices in correct decimal format and practiced identifying the dollar up. Check out the pictures of our learning below. Before we left for the trip, Sean and Juan helped guide the group discussion about expected behaviors.
Today, students worked on a scavenger hunt at CVS. Students found objects and talked about what they are for (functions). We were also going to eat at Burger King, but it was closed unexpectedly. We had to be flexible and change our plans to eat somewhere else nearby- Subway.
6th graders attended their house's Environmental Education trip at Camp Whitcomb Mason this week. Student enjoyed activities and learning about the following: fishing, boat STEM challenge, building a shelter, and orienteering.What a beautiful day yesterday for our first trip! |
