It’s been a busy few weeks! Literacy and life skills are in full swing! We made cloud dough and learned about laundry! Music exploration included playing the drums and for engineering we learned about safety and made some creations on the smart board! Check it out! Students in Cook's literacy worked on retelling the funny story we read this week, Smelly Clyde! First, we worked together to write a 5 sentence paragraph. We used visuals from the story to help us. Then, we wrote the sentences and added illustrations. Check out the work below! Students in Parks and Cook's math class headed outside to enjoy the weather and get some movement! We practiced using numbers on the sidewalk drawn with sidewalk chalk. We worked on identifying numbers, counting forward and backward, and adding/subtracting within 20!
8th graders chose a science experiment to practice parts of the scientific method. We made predictions/hypothesis and analyzed the results. We practiced measuring with measuring cups and rulers and with adding fractions!
We found out what happens when salt is added to plain water- our egg floats higher each time we add more salt to the water. This is because density of the water increases! Check out the pictures from our Egg Float Experiments below! |
